Community Engagement Program

Life happens in the community—and that’s where learning happens best.

Our Community Engagement Program provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to explore their communities, develop practical life skills, build meaningful relationships, and participate in activities that reflect their personal interests and goals.

Rather than spending the day in a traditional classroom setting, participants enjoy real-world experiences that encourage confidence, decision-making, communication, and greater independence, all while receiving personalized support from our caring staff.

Transportation is provided, allowing participants to travel safely and comfortably throughout the day while families enjoy added peace of mind.

A Day in Our Program

No two days are exactly alike.

Each morning, participants are welcomed into a day designed around exploration, connection, and personal growth. Activities are carefully selected based on individual goals, interests, and abilities while encouraging active participation in the local community.

A typical day may include:

Learning Through Real-Life Experiences

Every outing becomes an opportunity to learn.

Whether ordering lunch, managing money, navigating the community, or working together with peers, participants strengthen valuable life skills that promote greater independence.

Our staff provide guidance when needed while encouraging individuals to make choices, solve problems, communicate confidently, and celebrate every achievement—big or small. Each experience supports the goals outlined in the participant’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP).

Every activity is chosen to create opportunities for growth while making each day enjoyable and engaging.

Recreation, Wellness & Community Connections

A balanced program includes opportunities for fun, creativity, movement, and social connection.

Participants are encouraged to discover new interests while enjoying activities that support physical wellness, emotional well-being, and meaningful friendships.

Program experiences may include:
